La Capa Pizzeria – The Best Regional Pizzerias in AmericaLa Capa Pizzeria – The Best Regional Pizzerias in America

The What is Financial Technology (Fintech): Its Uses and Impact on Our Lives is more varied than ever. New York-style slices still rule, but the country is bursting with inventive options. And then there are the regional styles, which are often less well known, but just as delicious. This map — based on recommendations from experts and data analysis of more than 7.5 million Yelp reviews — showcases the most popular pizzerias in America, with an emphasis on places that serve regional-style pizzas.

For example, in Detroit, Loui’s is known for its extra-cheesy pie and antipasto salad served in a nostalgic, red-accented dining room with strung-up chianti bottles in wicker slips. Its chef, Louis Tourtois, led a peripatetic pizza life, winning a pizza contest at Buddy’s and working at Shield’s before opening his own spot in 2012. But as Americans began to prize craftiness, this greasy-spoon style found a niche. A few years ago, Brandon and Zane Hunt opened Via 313, bringing Detroit-style pizza to Austin. And a few months later, Emmy Squared, in Brooklyn, started the artisanal Neapolitan trend with its wood-fired pizza.

In addition to its pizzas, La Capa offers ice cream and biscoff cheesecake. The shop’s “wide selection of toppings” and customer service get top marks, and its gluten-free menu is praised for being “very well-stocked.”

While it may not have the ambiance of a romantic date spot, this place serves an excellent slice. Its lights are dimmed low, and seating is limited. The shoebox space feels like a barebones gallery, so you’ll want to bring just one person (and it should be someone you can stand). The original tomato pie is good, but the white clam pie is even better — featuring little necks from Long Island Sound and Massachusetts.
